Foods to avoid in the first year of baby

For a first time mother, its very important to know which food shud be avoided during the first yr as people usually gives some these to babies much before whn they are supposed to.
parents are usually too eager to give softdrinks, chips and choclates to babies much before whn babies actually ask for it.

Salt and Sugar- u wud find urself mostly fighting with ur MIL on this topic,as people generally think that how come baby wud like food without salt and sugar whn adults can't.

But i tell u babies hardly cared for them, their taste buds are not used to these two as ours.and also their system can't handle these foods.
my lo is 15 months, somedays i add little salt to her food.but if i don't, she doesn't care, she can ate it bland too.
as same with milk, some days i add sugar to it but whn i forget ,she still drink it.
some people give salt and sugar to their babies after 18 month old.though i have started  adding little salt or sugar to her diet but i never gave her too salty or too sweet food, the only reason is i dont want her to a develop taste for  high salt and sugar like us.

Cold drink ,choclates ,chips and wafers- One day my husbabd told me that his colleague is  giving choclates and chips to his eight month old son and his parents said that their is no harm in it as nothing happened, infact they offered him chola bhatura one day while they went out for a movie.
Well i wud say ,don't u want ur babies to be healthy? Nothing happens all of a sudden  but yes eating healthy food will affect in good way and unhealthy in bad ways with time.and why not promote good eating habits in babies ?

Fruit juice and soft drinks- Most of us think that ready made fruit juices are very healthy option but infact they are not...they all contain high sugar and yes have preservatives, eating a seasonal fruit is a  better option.
And for soft drinks or cold drink-why u want to give it to little babies?,Give them plain water if thirsty.

Biscuits and sweets: Biscuits are something we all start giving around eight months,as babies are teething they love chewing on it, but try to avoid giving it as long as u can.
And for sweets,we think a piece won't make a difference, but that's where the taste and preference starts building up.

Cow’s milk, and soy milk- some babies develop allergy to cows milk, and soy milk canot give necessary nutrients needed for babies growth

Honey-might contain some bacteria ,so considered not suitable for babies before one year.

Nuts- some babies are allergic to nuts while some aren't. but mostly it is avoided as it is a choking hazard for infants and small children.

Refined flours-like maida,or anything made with it,avoid it,usually cause constipation

Packaged foods

Artificial flavours.
